This is not the same solution as the rest of the Shusher Care saline range. It is a 5% hypertonic saline wound wash, roughly five times the salt concentration of standard 0.9% saline, and it is formulated for cleaning wounds rather than rinsing noses.

What hypertonic means in practice

Isotonic 0.9% saline matches the body’s own fluid concentration and simply rinses. A 5% hypertonic solution is more concentrated than body fluid, so it draws fluid away from the wound site — the mechanism behind the manufacturer’s claim that it helps reduce swelling while flushing out bacteria and debris. That is a meaningfully different action, and the reason this bottle is not interchangeable with the nasal sprays.
